In this 72-hour itinerary, I will take you on a journey through the best food spots, heart-pumping activities, and of course, beautiful locations for picture-perfect moments all so that you make the best out of your short but sweet trip to Cappadocia.

DAY 1
1. Explore your Cave Hotel & Enjoy a Turkish Breakfast Buffet
Indulge in a one-of-a-kind stay in a cave hotel that can only be found in Cappadocia. If you're coming off of a long flight from the west you are most likely going to experience jetlag, so you might not want to jump on an ATV right away. Start your day by exploring your cave hotel and taking in all the amazing details. You can take a stroll around the property, relax in the common areas or even go for a swim in the cave pool if you have one. Take your time, you're here to relax and enjoy your vacation!
Don't forget to indulge in a traditional Turkish breakfast buffet, which is often included in the hotel's room rate. The breakfast that was included in my hotel at the Eyes of Cappadocia was quite literally some of the most delicious food I've had. I LOVE tapas, as an indecisive foodie, a variety of small portions all at once is a dream. Turkish breakfast is just that, as they bring out various types of cheese, olives, jams, freshly baked bread, and other mouth-watering Turkish delicacies. It's a great way to start your day and fuel up your adventures ahead. Especially if you plan to enjoy fun activities in Cappadocia, it's best to save money by just eating the breakfast included at your hotel every day.
2. Activity: Explore Goreme Village for Shopping and Buzzing Activity
You can't miss out on the vibrant hub of Goreme Village. Goreme is a popular hub where many tourists choose is stay as it is central to all the unique rock formations, fairy chimneys, and cave dwellings that will have you feeling like you're in a dream world. But that's not all - Goreme Village is also a shopper's paradise with charming streets filled with shops, restaurants, and cafes. Walking around this village with you best outfit on will give you main character energy. For the perfect break, try some Turkish coffee or tea and enjoy the buzzing atmosphere. With museums and art galleries also scattered around the village, you'll have plenty to discover and learn about.

Cappadocia is a foodie's paradise, with Turkish cuisine bursting with rich flavors and variety. Indulge in local delicacies like lahmacun, a crispy thin dough topped with minced meat and vegetables, and dürüm, a succulent wrap stuffed with grilled meat and veggies. These dishes are a must-try and the exotic tastes will leave you craving for more.
4. Activity: Uchisar Castle for Panoramic views at Sunset
Uchisar Castle, also known as "Golden Hour Castle" (I made that up), is a popular landmark that sits on the highest point in Cappadocia. The castle was carved into a natural rock formation and served as a strategic point for various armies throughout history, including the Hittites, Persians, Byzantines, and Ottomans. It was also used as a watchtower to protect the villagers from enemies during the Byzantine era. Visitors can explore the inside of the castle's various tunnels and rooms, and when you're ready you climb the stairs to the top viewpoint, not a difficult climb at all.
Today, Uchisar Castle is a popular tourist attraction that offers a picturesque vantage point of the stunning valleys and fairy chimneys that surround it. Sunset is the perfect time to visit as the "Golden Hour" casts a magical glow and provides an ideal backdrop for capturing breathtaking photos.

5. Dinner - Head to Keyif Restaurant in Cappadocia
Keyif Restaurant in Cappadocia offers a unique dining experience with its stunning views of the valley and delicious Turkish cuisine. This charming restaurant serves a variety of dishes, including traditional kebabs, lamb chops, and vegetarian options. The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. With its warm and cozy atmosphere, Keyif Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in some authentic Turkish cuisine while enjoying breathtaking views of Cappadocia.
DAY 2
1. Hot Air Balloon Flight
Another fun activity to do in Cappadocia is to go on a hot air balloon ride. Cappadocia is known for its unique landscape and taking a hot air balloon ride is a great way to experience it from a different perspective. The balloon rides usually take place early in the morning during sunrise (like 5AM- I KNOW!) and last for about an hour. You get picked up in a bus and head over there around 4:30 AM. It will be hard to wake up and you might be a little grumpy but that will all go away once you're in the air seeing all the fairy chimneys, rock formations, and valleys from high up in the sky. It's truly a breathtaking experience and a must-do activity in Cappadocia.
Cost: Ranges from $150-$250 USD
PS: I recommend booking your Hot Air Balloon ride at the beginning or middle of your trip. Since hot air balloons are weather dependent, you never know when you'll get a cancellation due to sudden weather conditions. So just in case you get a cancellation, you can always reschedule for the next day. If you book for the last day you can risk missing out because it's your last day.
2. Activity: Gerome Open Air Museum & Goreme Historical National Park, Monks Valley
Cappadocia is home to two enchanting attractions that you absolutely cannot miss: the Gerome Open Air Museum and the Goreme Historical National Park. The open-air museum, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has treasures everywhere filled with ancient cave churches and monasteries that date back to the 10th to 12th centuries. The stunning mural paintings adorning the walls will transport you back in time and give you a glimpse into the fascinating history of early Christianity in the region.
The national park is a beautiful outdoor space that showcases the coolest geological formations of the region, including the famous camel rock above.
Meanwhile, Monks Valley offers a glimpse into the unique lives of the monks who once lived in this area, with its distinctive mushroom-shaped rock formations. If you have time, make a quick drive by Kume MH, which offers beautiful views of the valley. These attractions are sure to leave you with long-lasting memories of your trip to Cappadocia.

From juicy lamb kebabs grilled to perfection to flavorful chicken kebabs seasoned with herbs and spices, there's something for everyone. I love that they put sides as toppers. Another must-try dish is pide, a Turkish-style pizza with a thin crust topped with meat, vegetables, and cheese.
5. Dinner in Cappadocia:
Enjoy some dinner and wine at Seki Restaurant which is located in the town of Ortahisar. The restaurant is situated in a beautifully restored old mansion and serves delicious Turkish and international cuisine. The restaurant's cozy and intimate atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience, and visitors can enjoy their meal while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. Seki Restaurant also offers cooking classes for those interested in learning how to make traditional Turkish dishes. Overall, it is a must-visit destination for foodies and anyone looking to experience the best of Turkish cuisine in Cappadocia.
DAY 3
1. Witness Hot Air Balloons at Sunrise
Sacrifice just a little bit of your sleep (don't worry you can fall back asleep after) to witness the most breathtaking backdrop of your life which is witnessing the hot air balloons floating in the sky at sunrise. It's just a different view from when you're on the air balloon yourself. As the sun rises and fills the sky with colors, the balloons slowly ascend over the unique landscape of Cappadocia, creating an unforgettable sight. The moment is peaceful, almost magical, and you feel as though you are watching a dream come to life. This magical moment is peaceful and surreal, making you feel like you're watching a dream come to life. So don't forget to set your alarm clock and venture out early to experience this unforgettable display of nature. It's the perfect opportunity to capture the most stunning pictures that will make all your friends want to join you.
2. For Those With A Sweet Tooth
Cappadocia is not just famous for its beautiful landscape and unique cave hotels, but also for its delicious sweet pastries. There are many sweet shops in Cappadocia where you can indulge in various traditional Turkish desserts like baklava, Turkish delight, and pastries filled with nuts and honey. The aroma of freshly baked pastries fills the air and entices visitors to try these sweet treats.
